A downloadable game for Windows

An action platformer game with directional melee attacks and emphasis on "pogo jumping".

Play as a father in a fantastic world on the search for the legendary macguffin in a deserted landscape, but are you really alone in there ?

Note that you can skip ahead with the level select menu, accessible from the main menu and from the pause menu (Esc, P or "start" on the gamepad)

Created in 7 days for the Brackeys Game jam 2022.2.

I made a devlog about the making of the game.

Post Jam changes 1.01
- Fixed hitting ground enemies vertically from very far and through walls
- AZERTY keyboard support
- fix camera jerk when going airborne while the camera was still transitioning from another fall
- flying enemies are better at sliding off surfaces
- indicator of the current level in the level select menu
- Some balancing on the final boss fight
- Layout change to hammer level
- made a couple of walls taller to avoid jumping off the map by pogo jumping on flying enemies
- added input hint for upward attack

1.02:
- Tweaked jump camera to be more responsive on pogo jumps.

Install instructions

1. Extract the .zip
2. Run RosasCurse.exe

The game requires the DirectX 10 redist, which is kind of standard for Windows games so most people should have it. If you have an error saying something about "DX10" you should download the DirectX 10 redist.

Hello, RockyMullet!

I really like the art style in the game, I think it's called (noir).

Very beautiful game, you're great.

Did you draw the graphics for the game yourself or did you use someone else's asset pack?

I did do it myself ! It's the second time I try this art style, cause not only I think it looks cool, but it's also super efficient, specially when it comes to animation, which is important to get the most from the short duration of a gamejam (this game was made in 7 day for a Brackey's gamejam).

The first one I made with this art style was a narrative platformer called "Fast" that was also made for a 7 day gamejam.

Very beautiful, you are great!

Question: can I have your graphics from this game, I will use it in my game?

If not, I understand, just let me know about it.

Hey thanks !

I rather not share that specific art tho, cause it's not very suitable for an art pack, since it's all black and very dependent on the way I implemented it.

Hi RockyMullet !

I really like this art style, I really want to develop a game in this style.

If you decide to share this art pack, I will be very grateful.

i really wanted to download this but i have  a hard time trusting games when they say they want to make changes to my pc when i try to download them, i hope you understand, but from the looks of it this game is an amazing game and i wish to try it sometime in the future https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ve...

Understandable. Unreal do need DirectX 10 redist to work.

wondering if this game jam game turn into full indie game

Hey thanks for playing !
I probably wont expend that particular game, but I do like how the game works and I'm thinking of making a larger game using the same mechanics.
